I can't comprehend the greatness of this song......
that retrieves my memory from the golden past
I feel like rowing a boat in the river
myself, the solitary traveller
rowing miles and miles
suddenly discover an unhabitated island
where my departed souls exist....
the soul of my parents
with their showers of affection
the soul of my uncles
with their silent blessings
the soul of my loving niece
with her innocent smile
the soul of my intimate friends
with their warmest wishes
and the soul of my near and dear
waiting for me:
the song slowly comes to an end.....
bringing tears for my departed souls.
The soothing melody of that song lingers in my ears. Your poem is not only a tribute to that soulful musical composition but has the capacity to transport the reader to a world designated for our loving and respected souls who are no more alive but still shower their blessings on us and our families from wherever they are. Thank you, Kishore ji. Added to my Poem list.
To express thanks to a genious like you is an opportunity for me.....we all live due to the blessings of the departed souls....the trigger for that feelings came from the voice of Rafisahab......your inspirations simply can't be described...

Some music touch us very deep, because they speak what we can not speak.Even without understanding a language, the tune of a song may touch you.Mohd. Rafi was a very popular singer of Bollywood. His songs still enthrall the listeners and will continue to do so. A good music evokes a whole lot of emotions in us Your poem is a nice tribute to the great singer of India as well as to the departed souls who have held respectable and affectionate place in your heart.
