For You - Poem by Bethan Leigh Rowe

This is for you, my light in the dark
whose arms I shall lay in, until we must part
This is for you, my knight from above
whose soul I shall treasure, in lust, care, and love

For you who sees nothing, but beauty within
who reaches my heart, past each deadly sin
and though I am tainted, a shadow of life
you cling to me strongly, through pain, hurt and strife

This is for you, who saves me from Hell
who knows I am broken, who loves me so well,
This is for you, my saviour from death
whose glow I can bask in, with each laboured breath

For you, who sees me in sunshine and rain,
For you, who suffers to keep me from pain
For you, the man I never shall find
For you, who resides alone in my mind

This is for you, who does not exist,
whose face I see only through gray clouded mist
This is for you, who can do no wrong
whose arms I shall search for until I am gone
