For You I Would Wait Poem by Paul Jonathan Stertz

For You I Would Wait

Time-not always the friend of those who wait,
Time has delivered me here to this fate.
Time is all that I have.

It's hard to say why you've done what you've done.
The reasons are yours, and yours alone.
I don't need to know.

I'll let you go free, then you'll come back someday,
One time or another, you'll come back some way.
Til then I'll wait.

Forever I'll stay here as long as it takes
And if I'm still here 'til eternity breaks
That's all right by me.

You'll always be mine, whatever you say
Never mind whether you're here or away,
I'll be here for you.
