Forever Poem by Chantelle Nixon

Forever

I want forever
I want the cozy home
Filled with chores and bills
That I would tend to
With pride of duty
I want the position
Of the number one goddess
Of the ultimate superwoman
The only one with the love
The only one with his heart
I want forever
Stamped with a golden ring
Paper work, prenuptials
I want that vital promise
Which I already swear to uphold
I want the burdens of
Loyalty and honesty
I want to ride or die
To support that one
No matter what dreams
He chooses to follow
I want children, HIS children
And photo albums, school functions
And Christmases and Thanksgivings
I want night after night
Of those strong protective arms
Surrounding me in familiarity
I want uninhibited sex any day
At any time in any place
I want to hold hands
And kiss in public
I ache for the last name
And joint banking account
I long for the key to eternal trust
I just want that... that...
There are no more words to explain it
I just want – no, need –
FOREVER! !
