Forever Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Forever

Forever

Imagine in Hammam
You are boy; rest are not.
Among them a young girl

She is shy with walnuts
In cotton, Brahma
Has just soaked in bathtub.

She is wet, robe-stuck
And walnuts…

You are six; a devil and notice
Eyes hunters; mind amused
Legs and feet have gone wild
Bar of soap on floor

You slip and slide
Long flight

You fall on flagstones
Marble rocks, and slate

Eyebrow’s open-wound
Red flood
You’re drowned in blood

Nude women on the shout
“He’s a man; take him out.”
They cover back-front

For breasts, hands they want
There is none
Embarrassed is your mom
In no time you are out.

But the girl with walnut
A carving on your mind
Like paintings in a cave

Forever
