Forgiven Poem by Allen Keith Turner

Forgiven

Rating: 5.0

A one night rendezvous so very long ago
A child came into the world, I didn't get to know
You took from me precious time, that I can never get back
What did I ever do to deserve treatment like that?
Don't know the reasons, why I wasn't good enough
I tried showing my love, but you made it too tough.
We had one great moment, in our life together
after that, it was like stormy weather.
Would have offered my help, had I known where you were at
& if I knew what I did wrong, I would surely take it back!
As I sit & watch her with a stare, I wonder if she will ever care
I've saved a place, for her, in my heart
waiting til the day, her love for me, starts.
Will I ever be forgiven for the things I am not
& given a chance to show the love I have got?
