Forty Pleasant Quatrains [34 - Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Forty Pleasant Quatrains [34 -

34. It will bring glory and joy if you do things liked by your
town-folks. It is mirthful for a leader to rule with untiring
efforts. It is gladsome for a great king to cease the fight
in the battlefield where the sword fights with the sword.

35. It is jocund not to roam in the night.
It is jubilant to summarise things and elucidate without fatigue.
It will be elating to avoid the voluntary friendship of someone
who doesn't give respect.

36. It is gratifying for a king to know the truth from the words
of the spies. It is heartening to know something in full, probe it
and guard and deliver justice. It is joyous for a successful king
to be impartial, sharing with all and getting messages from all.

37.It's exulting to avoid saying envious words with a differing mind.
It's jubilant to avoid words of spleen and live with an even mind.
When the mind is fixed on something, without coveting it by waiting
for the apt time, if one forgets it, it is very delightful.
