Forty Quatrains On Rainy Season [25 - 29] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Forty Quatrains On Rainy Season [25 - 29]

25.The flowers bloomed in the Theruzh, the creepers of the forest land
Which have black base stem like that of Varagu, the millet like plant.
The promised time to return in rainy season of our beloved has come.
So thought the heroine with paleness spreading much on her body!

26.O, you heroine describing things in a few words! Like the lamps lit
on the first day of Karthigai festival, the flowers bloom in the vast stretch of forests. O rains! You're the envoy of the rainy season.
The hero will be sure to come soon.

27.The clouds rattle like the hilly land-drums.The leaves of Gurukathi grew and opened in the forest.Thinking of the separation of our lover,
if we go on resenting, the paleness will make us lie down in bed.
So we need not be angry. He will come back as assured.

28.The clouds blared like loud music. The flowers of Kumizh bloomed
in clusters like the golden ear-studs! O, mind! The villagers of my love
have a bad view on us.To wipe it out, we have to go through the forests
to earn. The season of rains has made the forests cool and good.

29.The groves flourish around with blooming blossoms. The restless
beetles play on the music joyously in the forest. Engulf the clouds
the whole sky in disgust. The forests are very cool.
So we may go back to our heroine.
