Free (The) Spirit - Poem by Subashini Ravichandran

The warm room is filled with noises
everyone pushing to show their voices
with the air pumped with excitement
there is laughter in every corner

Amidst all that amusement and fun
with joy radiating beyond every high
nothing touches my shielded self
as I hear aloud and think silent

There is an invisible bubble around
which does not burst to any sound
However hard they try and try
not one succeeds to pierce into

While in my own head I doubt it
wonder what the heart comprehends
I search for clues and pieces around
thinking it is just a part of the puzzle

It surprises and shocks everyone
how can you not blabber along
talk along those sensational and
heartily laugh with the group

It's often a shallow misconception
added with random assessments
to label those who do not fit in
as someone who doesn't belong

Cannot clarify the myths and reasons
nor can interact without any sake
It does not mean not standing up
just nothing important to add on
