Freedom Poem by James Timothy Jarrett

Freedom

As freedom fades
to twilight dim
and darkness filters in
Hopes fall
Like withered leaves
On droughted lands
Of deep despair
But we ourselves
Are here
Brought
Not blown
By fate and resolve
To stand before the storm
uncolored by fear
unshaken by threat
We Stand
For freedom

Freedom is taken
Not given
Cry freedom!

Appealing in poetic excellence Jim - strong piece - - and truly stated that freedom often has to be taken - very rarely given... love the imagery used. - - greetings from Fay. Cornwall U.K.
