It was great and hard work
Our forefathers met with bullets and not words
It was long drawn struggle
Pain and agony to suffer with trouble
Poor, peasants and craftsman
No one was happy including businessmen
Whole of the country was under slavery
It was sad plight with lots of concern to many
Are we in position to safeguard freedom?
In real sense or offer it seldom
It has lost its charm
Done no good but more harm
Corruption is main issue
They say it is world vide and to be viewed
More global than local
People are afraid to be vocal
We are not able to match moral standard
There is not much more to look forward
Poor remain poor and rich gets richer
It needs more sacrifice to reach the ladder
Still we catch the figures
Of past leaders and think of future
Talk of peace and prepare for nothing
Does freedom at last stand for anything?
