Star Dust

Friend

She looked up,
And I finally understood,
I wasn’t just a friend,
I was her hope,
Her dreams,
Her life,
And everything she wanted to be,
I was in her heart,
Engraved, never to be washed away,
She was hurt and left alone,
I have given her self-esteem,
Hope and dreams,
She smiled,
And I smiled back, understandingly.

I like this poem. To be someone's rock is a hard job. But we need to be that for our friends and them for us. Thanks for sharing your poem.

in such a short scope you have depicted the essence of one as friend and more, mutual understanding is in the air as friendship and love stays...fine work.
