Adryan Barnathan

Friend Of The Devil

Poem by Adryan Barnathan

A monster coils
each of us
waiting to strike
blistering vehement
through us
to come out
of seclusion.
You may not
see its face
but several times
you've met him
and turned
to stone.
Best to
understand him-
he is part
of you and me
and we are
all very much
the same
in anger.
