Friendship's Broken String Poem by Sandiso Mhlanga

Friendship's Broken String

Rating: 5.0

I thought you were my friend,
The one I could always depend
On through thick and thin,
But now it seems our bond is thin.

We laughed and shared our secrets,
And our friendship seemed so concrete,
But now I see you in a different light,
And it's hard to hold on tight.

You used to be the one I confided in,
But now I'm hesitant to begin
Sharing my thoughts and fears with you,
Because I don't know what you'll do.

Our friendship was a beautiful thing,
But now it's like a broken string,
That's hanging on by just a thread,
And it's hard to keep it from being dead.

I thought you were my friend,
But now I see that it's the end,
Of the bond that we once had,
And it's time to move on and be glad.

I'll remember the good times we shared,
But it's time for me to be repaired,
And find friends who will always be true,
And I hope you find them too.
