From An Armchair Poem by Sarah Persson

From An Armchair

Rating: 5.0

Something that could make me leave my bed,
Just something for my heart, not just my head,
From the tiny window on my right,
I see the world pass by both day and night.

The joy that comes with love, a perfect storm,
Musicians write the tales our hearts have worn,
Each person from each walk of life I see,
Have something deep inside that sets them free.

People speak of going to new places,
About the things in life where they find joy,
Expecting you to find the same enlightment,
But without the heart alongside, what's the point?

I snuggle in the sheets to hide away
From all the insignificance of my day,
In hope that one day love will change my heart,
To bring a life of joy,a brand new start.

Today I'm in the armchair of a time,
Reflections fill my day then disappear,
Passing time til someone comes along,
To fill my time with joy, just like the song.

Is it the sharing of a meal, a laugh, the pouring of two cups of tea? The turning to an open heart. A connection, a completion of being. To be appreciated and to give appreciation in kind and in so doing to feel engaged in life. Your words capture the longing, the philosophical day to day reality. The sigh and bittersweet knowledge is declared here and reveals a depth of understanding, urgent, honest and sadly beautiful.

Something in mind motivates and head feels every act of thinking process. People speak of going to new places to find happiness and love and dreams give us joy. Sitting in armchair you judge upon reflections and these reflections motivate mind. An excellent poem is beautifully penned.10
