From The Field Where The Game Is Played Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

From The Field Where The Game Is Played

People talk a good game!
But...
Either from the sidelines.
Or from the bleechers.
Even from the comforts of their homes.

However...
From the field where the game is played,
Nowhere are they seen...
To show anyone any proof at all,
They can hold a bat to foul or strike out.
And the hitting of a homerun to accomplish?
Comeon.
Let's be realistic.
That takes showing up.
And getting off one's butt!
