From Who Would They Learn This

Without faith to test.
And kept to flourish.
Easy it would be,
For anyone to become discouraged.
Especially today's,
Computerized youth.
Permitted to sit,
Surrounded by...
The advancements of technology.
With a swiftness to display,
Any fantasy they wish.
To not be assigned a chore.
Or know what this is,
Expected from them to do.
While their parents or guardians,
Choose to ignore...
The importance of this too!

Then...
What from these 'kids',
Growing up fast should anyone expect?
A knowing to show,
The meaning of respect?
The meaning and benefit of sweat equity?
The feeling of achievement?
Received after accomplishing,
Something they did to leave them pleased?

And...
From who would they learn this?
Action heros,
Watched on TV and movie screens?

From who would they learn this?
Playing videos with friends,
Killing their enemies on opposing teams?
Taking 'selfies' to send.
To get another 'selfie' back?
What is the sense being made?
And who is responsible for that?

Without faith to test.
And kept to flourish.
Easy it would be,
For anyone to become discourage.
Especially today's computerized youth.
Permitted to sit.
With nothing else to do.
After watching TV.
Action and horror movies.
Sending to receive 'selfies'.
Fantasized by experiencing same sex,
With students, teachers.
Or whoever accepts.
Then to claim everyone is to blame,
For allowing them to turn to drugs.
To feel 'completed'.

When what is really needed,
Is shown tough love.
Swiftly applied to their lazy butts.
Then a call to 911,
To tell them what was done.
That could possibly save,
Another enslaved taxpayer.
From investing their dollars...
In the rising cost and expense,
That a teaching corruption...
Had been attempted to prevent,
A building an addition to a prison!
