Frozen! In A Medieval Freeze(Spectacle) Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Frozen! In A Medieval Freeze(Spectacle)

Frozen!
In a medieval freeze.
Thawed.
Updated to create a mistake,
Of a spectacle.
Feeding minds long hollowed.
Although,
Filled to the brim...
With unstoppable egos.
To prove and to show,
How far a self serving,
Of a thoughtlessness can go.
At the expense of a charade to parade.
Permitted and allowed to grow.
Without consciousness or common sense.
Sinking pride to once have had it,
Masquerade to pretend.
But few with chests boasting their allegiance,
Can say they had spent,
One second or even a minute...
Prepare to defend their pretensions,
In battle to fight their beliefs to protect.
And yet express utmost disrespect,
To the ones who have done this.
Living homeless and hungry on the streets.
Being mocked and betrayed.
