Frustrator Poem by Brandi Guthrie

Frustrator

Rating: 4.8

It`s occurred to me with little ponder
That among my wicked and nasty ways
There`s rarely one that I find fonder
Than the introverted, sadistic games I play.
You may attempt to crack the safe,
Listen attentively to every click,
Watch intently to how I behave,
Like a bomb getting ready to tick.
Use your words of reason and logic,
Systematically list my triggers,
Rationalize with themes and topics,
You`ll concede with inaccurate figures.
It`s in my nature to abuse myself
And to confound the specialized minds
With indifference to life`s pursuits and wealth
And unwillingness to leave a past behind.
There`s no need to expend another second
Weighing the consequences of my insanity.
When a better life for you now beckons
Enhancing your quality of life instantly.
I`ll always play the frustrator
In our diversion of loss and gain.
But instead of you playing the failure,
I`d rather discharge you from the game.

Brandi, Brandi, Brandi! Oh so love this one! The wordplay and teasing nature of it really is up my street! Excellent wording and metaphor here as people look on others and play 'the game' to find out how people tick, react and find out what their deep rooted problems are, must surely be like a psychologist or may even a psychopath lol! But with every game, be it win or lose, you gain ground and ever deepen thoughtful troubles that may ever bubble to the surface. You have a typo on the title of this one Brandi, missed the T out of Frustrator and I do think that it should be spelt with an O rather than an E, but that really is up to you (as it not a dictionary word!) because you have invented a great word here! Love the cat and mouse feel of this one and the moral message underneath. Excellent perception and your great ability combine here to deliver a thriller poem. Very well expressed, another top poem from you! Dale :)
