The enlightenment perspectives of Hodge and BB Warfield are over for me. That is one side of a ditch on a one way street. I accept contextual criticism and to me any real intelligent Christian does. I am talking about the other side of the ditch being Scripture can't be trusted and can only be existentially experienced. Jesus said 'when you see these things come to pass. 'When you see what is written by Daniel the prophet' Matthew 24: 21….Eschatology is observed, seen with a certain empirical rational aspect to it as well as the subjective spiritual quality. We can see history with our intellect. We can see Israel is a nation and that the mideast is a hot bed. This false doctrine that all scripture can only be experienced existentially from some Kierkegaardianaxiom coming through Brunner is wrong and rejected. Even Barth moved away from it. Many parts of Scripture are observable, open to archeological discovery, history. To make Scripture into a narrowly defined modern perspective presses in on our faith. Liberalism and higher criticism has a lot of recanting to do. They hate the dead sea scrolls bringing the book of Daniel latter than the Maccabean era.I trust theSeptuagint way over the latter Masoretic texts. I know that many or even most passages of Scripture need faith but once a person believes you don't need an existential experience to believe in them. We observe the times. We are to discern.We see the trouble in the world brewing. Just because we had a wave of commercialism like the late great planet earth doesn't mean we diminish eschatology or prophecy. The bible so clearly talks about Israel coming back in Romans 9 through 11 and all over the Old Testament. I feel so many people put themselves in theological belief systems for security rather than really knowing orthodoxy really does have the answers. The fundamentalist nazi's won't even accept Global Warming affected by man but talk about Armageddon. They literally listen to Limbaugh and these other jerks and bring it right into their churches which are sign up parties for the republican party, oil companies, food industry and capitalism. Their shills and zombies. I can see why the left aspect of Christianity who liked Mother Teresa and Roosevelt etc get a headache. I sure do. I will never ever be apart of those hypnotized works preaching nazi ideologies in the name of the gospel. They step on working people and the poor exactly the opposite of Scripture. The soap selling corporate church using Jesus as a magic product for American corporate power. Not a word against Monsanto and GMO's and biochemical growth hormone food industry pharmaceutical killers while they go on and on and on about radical Islam. It's sickening! ! ! ! I also am so tired of the left wing bloggers not standing up for all the murdered babies by abortion on demand. SO SO PHONY! Freedom for homosexuals but kill all the babies you want in the name of freedom for women. It's all so corrupt and I see all the parties, movements and revolutions as whores for sale by lobbyists and big money. I see freedom in Christ according to the Scripures and I am called to preach it and I am going to with my dying breath…..this dispensation is ending. We are in the time of sorrows and we are coming to the Great Tribulation just like the bible says.
