Funeral Procession Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Funeral Procession

Rating: 5.0

Relatives and friends have gathered
Ambulance carrying cadaver has arrived,
A man who has died is in deep sleep,
His wife and children are crying around,
No one is willing to leave his body,
A sorrowful state is waved in street.

Many are trying to convince family
To accept the final truth and peace,
Having patience they should carry on
The last but true funeral procession,
The man has left everything here,
Nothing he has taken even single dust,
No one is willing to leave his dead body.

But they cannot protect his final journey,
All have offered funeral flowers,
Final prayer for his peace is done,
Death is a undefeated truth,
Funeral procession conveys the message,
The state of dispassion is felt well.

A poignant and insightful write on death. A vivid portrayal of the realities of life and death. Yes, no one can prevent nor protect a final journey. Brilliantly penned.
