Gaia Reflects Poem by Danny Draper

Gaia Reflects

Rating: 5.0

Accretion of forgotten aeons
warmly dancing,  spinning titlting
 'round my mothers shining side,
happily oblivious and healthy, with
brothers, sisters,  her captive pride.
Then an essence,
far beyond ore and crystal
insinuated my very being.
Tentative first,
then diverse in profusion
I offered no sentient care
yet, it in myriads flourished.
At times it dimmed and failed
but always continues.
I feel it has changed me
and I in turn, it.
... lately,
... and this is an obscure confession,
but one of these parasitic essences
thinks that I and all my being
and all the millions of different essences
have become its sole possession.
What should I do?
Allow this parasite to
diminish and debase my intrinsic worth,
or allow it to dim and fail, and wait,
until the essence strengthens
 anew within my earth?

Agree. It is indeed meaningful.. what can I say? You choose what you become to be.. as Henley's 'Invictus says, I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul.. thanks for your 'obscure confession'.. And as for Gaia, it gives the poem more meaning, perhaps, another story to tell..10 from me.

if there are only two options go the second. You are your own best doctor in this case

Very inspired write Danny, a beautiful eulogy for the earth and our continuing destruction of it, but she will indeed fight back and return to her former glory - one day, perhaps when mankind has ceased to be.
