Game Over Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Game Over

Game over.
Your request for an additional overtime,
To play...
Will not be granted.

Your insistence that your opponent,
Has weaknesses you have capabilities to defeat...
Needs nore evidence,
Than those strategies used...
Produced to see you the one getting beat.

Huddling with neighbors and friends...
As well as family members,
Who have expressed their doubts...
Knowing your preference to embellish,
Have already signalled...
They believe you undeserving of more time outs.

Game over.
Your request for an additional overtime,
To play...
Will not be granted.

Your tactics to delay your removal from the field,
Only yields to your embarrassment...
And yet you wish to keep your deceit concealed.

Game over.
Your request for an additional overtime,
To play...
Will not be granted.

Your GAME...
Is OVER!
