Gender Bias Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Gender Bias

Gender bias,
How did it wreak havoc,
Discriminatory gender bias,
Inhuman, savage gender bias
Discriminating in between
Man and woman,
Male and female
And we could not
The scheme,
The Divine Scheme of Things
And that too in going after rites and rituals,
Beliefs and customs blindly
Took to faith
But can the supernatural, the nocturnal
In such an unreasonable way
Even though mysticism leads to?

We suppressed, oppressed womankind,
Woman race
In the name of religion, politics,
Our society,
Villagegrly elders and patriarchs,
Conservatives, zealots,
Fundamentalists and the orthodox people,
Overriding their rights, confining them,
Torturing mentally and physically,
Subjecting to unnecessary discrimination,
Giving not voting rights,
Asking to live within a periphery, ghetto of living
And domestic violence taking the sleeps away.
