Genealogy Poem by Gerald Opio

Genealogy

At the genesis of the world,
words allured Adam and Eve,
through conceit, Eve was seduced,
through seduction, Adam was enticed,
the forbidden fruit eaten conceived sin,
the genealogy went on and on,
sin multiplied and formed a line of decent,
words begot conceit,
conceit begot desire,
desire begot will,
will begot sin,
sin begot death,
the genealogy goes on and on.
