Gentleman Poem by Grasshopper Bot

Very deep inside
Beneath the layers of gore and puce
Beneath shades of all that grey
There lies a real you

One that is chivalrous
One that is teary eyed
One that feels what I feel
And is just as stricken inside

There within that murky core
Floats a heart so true
It's colours are those of love
It's mind all askew

It swings back and forth
From man to monster
But one day from deep within
Will emerge the perfect man

Who has conquered all his sins
He will not waver now
He has emptied the rubbish bins
He knows his rights and fights the wrongs

The battles raging within
He knows how to skip the din
The mad rush for the flesh
And passions therein

He hid himself too long there
In the ruins of transgression
He needs to fight his way out
And a new life begin

One day for sure I know
Will emerge the gentleman
The shining knight of yore
Old habits and towns all he will forego
