Get Along Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Get Along

Rating: 5.0

For too long kept prolonged,
Your intentions to make right...
Has only created,
The doing of more wrongs.

"We have been debating,
Between ourselves...
Which direction,
Would be the better one...
For all of us to agree upon.
And that direction,
Once agreed upon we all will take."

I see.
Are you open to suggestions?
And recommendations.
To consider them not to hesitate?

"Sure of course.
Anything to end this nonsense.
Anything to end,
A heated up escalation.
Leaving nothing to solve.
As the people wait,
For us to realize...
Their fate is in our hands."

This...
We all understand.
And our recommendation to suggest,
Is for you all to get along.

"We are doing our best,
To do just that."

No.
You misunderstand.
We want you to scoot.
Skedaddle.
Leave.
Move.
Away from us.
Get along.
Like distance yourselves.
We can do a much better job.
For less cost.
And done without,
Medicating ourselves from your headaches.

Scoot.
Skedaddle.
Leave.
Get along.

"You can't do that.
You elected us,
To represent the best of your interests."

And our interests no longer needing debate,
Is for you to get along.
Scoot.
Skedaddle.
Leave.
Go!
