Getting Up And Leaving Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Getting Up And Leaving

Getting up and leaving,
Just before the dawn.
And after making love,
With a doing made that's gone.
Instills suspiciousness,
With the one feels dismissed.
And wronged.
All day long.

Those who please with teases,
Just to feed their needs.
Can never be believed.
With their doings that deceive.
But they seem to be first,
To suffer from the hurt.
Felt deep.
And they weep!

Getting up and leaving,
Just before the dawn.
And after making love,
With a doing made that's gone.
Instills suspiciousness,
With the one who feels dismissed.
And wronged.
All day long.

Getting up and leaving,
Just before the dawn.
Is wrong.
Is wrong.

Getting up and leaving,
Just before the dawn.
Is wrong.
Is wrong.
