Girl Of The Seasons Poem by Terry Dawson

Girl Of The Seasons

Rating: 4.8

Girl of the Seasons
I think of these days -
Her loveliness is Reason,
Her reluctance dismays!

Her face is the Summer;
Young radiant girl
Her smile is the Springtime
When new leaves unfurl!

Her frown is the Autumn;
Joys dry up and fall
Her absence brings Winter
When loneliness calls.

Her laughter's a goblet
Of sweet Summer wine
And though her eyes sparkle,
The sparkle's not mine!

Of love and the seasons are always good subjects, be they happy or sad and you have managed both. Very well executed Terry. I love the lines Her loveliness is Reason, Her reluctance dismays! & the last stanza.

Wonderfully executed poem, light, airy, filled with imagery, ending on a note of sadness within, knowing you are not the one. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
