Give Up The Gun Poem by Randy McClave

Give Up The Gun

How many more people must lay dead
Shot either in the body or in the head,
Or maybe laying alone somewhere dying
While family members sit crying.
How many more parents still must cry
Must another child again die,
Must another child be offered up and shot
Did they draw that lot.
How many more people must be killed
For a hurt that will never be healed,
How many more guns must be bought
Until true peace is ever sought.
How can we ever call ourself a Christian
And scream love and Jesus is our mission,
When in one hand we carry the Bible the other a gun
Which hand will have won.
How many more lies and excuses must we give
For just one less person to live,
How many more tragic massacre sights
Before people stop screaming for their killing rights.
How many more victims must be carried
And how many more voices must be buried,
How many more guns must release their deadly puff
Until we all scream and say.......... ENOUGH!
