Giving You Back Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Giving You Back

Though you were never mine...any how.
Be gone!
Sculptor of dreams,
How wonderfully you tied
Each one with golden bows,
Woven of fairy tales that teased
My damaged heart.
Be gone!
Back through the dark streets
Of melancholy where you found me.
The lights are back on now and I
Can find my way alone.
I give you back to the only one who
Understands you...
Yourself...and I am not that is true!
