Global Warming Is Here Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Global Warming Is Here

Rating: 5.0

Dark clouds gathering
A restless wind swirling
Trees sighing in anticipation
We are so sure
The rains are here
The signs are clear

Half an hour later.
The sweltering heat is back
The clouds clear
And i fear
It's another dry day
Met Office with nothing to say

There had been a communique
A map looking complicated
Showing a deluge of hailstorms
Rain and possible floods
Possibly even spilling of blood
From Monday November twenty third
Nothing happened i am afraid

Global warming is here

"To change with change is the changeless state"
After three years of drought straight
We have to forget about the rains
And drill boreholes and run water in drains.

There is no use complaining, praying and blaming God
Nothing ever remains the same, in other areas it's very cold.
To every adverse situation there is opportunity
Here is the opportunity for our unity
Unity of purpose to advance to the next stage
Turn on a new agricultural page
We harness ground water for food
Ignore rain water it seems for good

Global warming is here
