God, Let Your Mercy Rain. Poem by Gerald Opio

God, Let Your Mercy Rain.

Rating: 5.0

For the times past and ages to come;
By your mercy we have survived.
For the innumerable sins of man prevalent;
Your mercy prevails.
Always falling short of your standard;
But your mercy never fails.
Rebukable our sins are but you relent your indignation.
Who else apart from you?
Can be so loving and tenderhearted.
Your mercy as vast as the ocean;
Let your mercy rain;
For we need it more that we need the world.
We thirst for your mercy.
Satiate our lives with your mercy.
May mercy never leave our houses.
Let mercy prevail as we search for thee.
Do not let us grow weary or despair.
Mercy should see us through our despondent lives.
Your compassion has liberated us from your rage.
May your mercy infest the world. Amen.
