Going West After Mathew Arnold The East Poem by Jonathan ROBIN

Going West After Mathew Arnold The East

The West bows low before Red China,
greed's patent deep disdain,
it's Obit US with no headliner:
few democrats remain.

The West declines, meanwhile Red China
in quarantine holds all but Han;
shows human decency angina
hope's suffocating pain.

The East
The East bow'd low before the blast,
In patient deep disdain.
She let the legions thunder past,
And plunged in thought again.
