SAMUEL, Chap. xvii.

YE martial pow'rs, and all ye tuneful nine,

(2) ….she died at the age of 31 because of childbirth and with her her baby too. Her poems were famous since they were published. Great luck and happiness for her when she read her poems at George Washington's House when there was a Poetry Gathering held. She was invited too. A greatest honour for her. Because of her poems she was no slave anymore. CONGRATULATIONS being This Classic Poem Of The Day. Hurray!

A great war story between the armies of Israel and Philistine and heroic deed of their chieftains incorporated in this story poem very nicely, making it icaptivating in spite of it's unusual length.

Phillis Wheatley, North American poetess, a name to remember! She was made a slave at the age of SEVEN. And her master taiught her to read and write and look she produced POETRY. What a gift. Born in Gambia, Africa, she died at the age of 31 in all poverty because her husband abandoned her since they have 2 babies who died as infants and when she was pregnant again, he abandoned her, so she birthed in poverty and died in poverty.
