Good Friends And Poetry - Poem by Theresa Ann Moore
When you stop to think…
What helps evade the brink?
There are two for me…
Good friends and poetry.
Approaching a warning sign
Sometimes the brakes resign.
Then I need guard fences…
To improve my defenses.
On the highway of life
I see oncoming lights of strife.
When I swerve to avoid…
Then strategies are employed.
Emotional disasters can subside
When there are friends by my side.
Giving me strength to cross the bridge.
Preventing a fall from a slippery ridge.
Putting my doubts and fears on paper
Turn debilitating worries into vapor.
The printed words give a clear view…
They hold me together like glue.
This therapy is not over simplified.
If you are losing control of your ride
Just seek immediate attention and yield.
Good friends and poetry become a shield.
