If whoso fights should sure suffer defeat,
Naught so is worth fighting for on this earth,
If naught so worth be opposing, retreat,
To fight for one's views is an idle mirth—
Like shadow fighting with a mirror's beam,
A mere image that mimics at one's own!
The world is good to good in its esteem,
To evil, world the worst never hast known.
We taught are: let the light of lamp not die,
There's no one way to walk up angel's way
Grey nights grow dark, but dawn does light up sky,
The dance of duals forever does play,
The wisdom of all books lies in one line:
The right way winds but one, wrong ways are nine.

This sonnet is inspired by a shloka (a quatrain)in Mahabharata as under:
shloka-ardhena pravakśhyāmi yat uktam grantha koţibhih |
para-upakāra pūņyāya pāpāya para-pīđanam ||
In bare a couplet I'll tell thee
What, in scores of books has been said:
Acts of good ever are sin free,
Evil unto others sinful made.
