Goodbye Poem by Tabitha abner

Goodbye

Standing in the warm summer rain.
My heart is burning up with pain.
As I watch you drive away.
You're taillights fade in the night.
I wish we could take back the fight.
Maybe it would have saved your life.
The night you said goodbye.

Standing beside the hospital bed.
I bow my head with a tear in my eye.
Holding your hand within mine.
Just let it all out and cry.
I whisper softly in your ear.
Goodbye.

Standing in front of your grave.
I lay flowers below your name.
A tear falls down on the grass.
I fall down to my knees.
Wondering why you had to say
Goodbye.

Laying here in this bed.
As you stand by my side.
Holding my hand with a tear in your eye.
You whisper softly in my ear.
Goodbye.
