Goodbye Poem by Ronald Chapman

Goodbye

Rating: 4.5

I don't understand.
Why did you have to go?
All I can do is dream about you.

I see your silhouette,
On my nightstand,
It makes me remember;

You and I, kissing on that warm summer night.

Lying here in bed,
Only hearing your voice in,
The sound of the whispering wind.

Where are you now?
We never said goodbye on that hot June night,
Are you saying hello to me at every sunrise?

I don't understand,
I still listen for your sweet words,
Just one time, I want to hear you say,

Goodbye, my love.

A very emotional piece, very expressive. It is very hard to say good bye to our love ones, and I do feel as in this beautifully penned poem that there presence is with us, as we carry them in our hearts until that great reunion.

Godfrey Morris, Thank you for your beautiful comment. These words were inspired by someone i lost very long ago. I had a dream about her last night. -Ron
