Grand Illusion. Poem by dave lessard

Grand Illusion.

Rating: 5.0

Your love was kind and gentle
just like a friend in need
that comes running to your side
at your beck and heed.
Your love was like a river
bathing in the glowing sun
flowing in its beauty
as the day is done.
Your love was like pure magic
bewitching in its charm
until the spell was broken
it never did me harm.
Your love was grand deception
charades and grand illusion
it brought me to my knees
by your devilish confusion.
Then your love was tossed away
like a diamond in the sea
and what I thought was love
now's forgotten memory.
