Granma Used To Say Poem by David Darbyshire

Granma Used To Say

Rating: 4.1

Keep a nickel between your Knee's
Women are hard to Please
A closed mouth catches no flies
A dead man tells no Lie's

Being happy is better than being king
Do not allow sins to get beyond creeping
Discretion is the better part of valor
Be careful what you wish for

Beware the door with too many keys
Can't see the forest for the trees
Clouds gather before a storm
The early bird catches the worm

Can't get blood from any stones
Hard words break no bones
Half a loaf is better than none
Easier said than done

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink
I hope all these lines, make you all Think
Don't bite off more than you can chew
Have to give 'Granny' credit where credit is due

Granny sounds like she was quite a lady - good words to live by and you are lucky to have her impart such wonderful wisdom! Good work here. My warmest regards, CJ

Catchy, witty stuff, Davey. Have 8 marks on me. Warmly, G (but you can call me 'darling', of course) .
