Great Danger At Zaporizhzhia (English Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

Great Danger At Zaporizhzhia (English Sonnet)

At the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant
on which Russia did previously open fire,
for personnel Russians control to grant,
under a false flag attack it may become dire,

where Russia plans to jeopardise the cooling,
to create another Chernobyl explosion;
to blame the Ukraine, the world they will be fooling,
they kidnap and torture people without emotion,

Russian soldiers try to get confessions
from Energoatom employees to falsely admit
while under great duress and aggression.
Russians want to throw unsafe objects in it,

blame the Ukraine for paying inadequate attention
while employees live under fear and apprehension.
