Great Storm

With unrelenting fury storm breaks asunder
Blinding rain cascades with battering winds
Hurricane force sweeps all before it
Giant trees uprooted, rivers overflow
Power lines come down, thunder roars
Darts of lightning burn and destroy
Houses flooded, drains and sewers overflow
Seas churn in fury, waves high as houses
Whipped by deadly winds battering the coastline
Smashing down walls and defences
No trains running with railway lines under water
Hundreds of miles of flooded farmland
People in panic and despair with lives at risk
Waters rising with wildlife drowning.
