Greatest Love For His Sinful Soul Poem by Marie J. Christopher

Greatest Love For His Sinful Soul

Rating: 5.0

Soul has not kept her words of Truth
Sleuthing of heart, fallen, sunken lower than yesterdays
Despise herself, soul in disarray
Drifting away, she confesses in sorrow
But soul knows, just knows that she is still in her Lord's heart
The heart which is so vast, also so little
Like any other human heart, but immensely sensitive and so fragile
Most gentle, full of compassion and mercy, no malice
Infamously He once carried me and my faults on His cross
More than the love of a mother in her greatest loss
Rebirth of my soul, He gave, with His life, even with my sinful death
Breath He gives back to my soul while I confess
With all tender loving, to me He extends His arms to caress
My pain and distress, He eagerly consumes
Compassion of my Blessed Savior, Oh, so fathomless, so un-assumed
Entombed with Him are all my odious scandals
But feeble and full of blame, from time to time, I am glad to be
Filthy and worthless, counted as nothingness, everything I leave
To be beggar to the Lord Who shows greatest compassion
Upon the repentant son who loves Him much, now in such need
Who is lamenting for failing to fulfill his promised deeds
Free to do the good, now himself blamed for all faults
Assaulted, tempted, committed what he didn't want to commit
Even he failed to see it coming; in weakness he humbly now admits
Being a misfit, soul can't now rely on himself
But dependent on His Grace, soul is now content to rest
Blessed to soul who is loved by the One Who scrutinizes all,
All sin gravity and frequency of offenses and soul's effort in struggles
Raising great battle before his succumbing, soul is compassionately cradled
In the arms of his Blessed Lord Who loves soul more than if he was sinless
Soul, don't suffer your Lord by staying away
Pray for mercy and seek Him out as His guilty sheepish child
Renew your trust, confident in His mercy, in His eyes, soul is preciously beheld
Hold out your hand for Him to bring you closer to Him
For He takes great pleasure in your sorrow and self-imposed humiliation
Very fond of your endeared company for He was once similarly subjected
What pains Him is indifference of the righteous, apathy from His complacent debased subjects
Who suspect He is long gone; His salvation story is now history
Soul, by faith, you know the Lord is alive, near you, and invite
Contrite heart to be dressed by Him for the intimate heavenly Banquet.
Smiling all night, the Lord and His purified soul immerse
In their most profound dialogue,
Heart to heart.

(Hi, all my poets friends! not sure if this is a mistake for me to come back so soon or not, but I just want to drop by to cheer you all up. That is all. I have been doing a lot of soul searching, resulting quite a few poems and this is the first. I hope it will cheer you somehow. Once a while I will drop to say hi but you do need time off from me. Really. Peace!)
