Greed And Lust Poem by Thamsanqa Job Mzamo

Greed And Lust

Brothers in arms, side by side, juxtaposed,
They are but one! Affect the senses, heart
And mind; projected by the unyielding,
Attentive servants, the eyes! Everywhere
You are, no matter what, shameless servants,
Those eyes will lead you on; no matter what
The circumstances, my man, you will look!
Pictures not fit for human consumption;
Granted, you may not, like a racehorse, wear
Blinkers, but self-control is the norm.
Otherwise, your heart will be captive,
Your mind and soul prisoners to the vices
Of Greed, the shames of uncontrolled Lust, the
Consequences, my love, will be tragic!
