Green Sleeves Poem by Bill Cantrell

Green Sleeves

The concrete jungles of today?
A shell without a soul
Glass, lights, signs and metal

I have consulted the humble seed
The strength to reach for the sun,
breaking through the asphalt barriers

A simple blade of grass, lifts the heart to heights of bliss
The green is their soul and they wish to share a dream
Actually, coexistence in the truest form of art and peace

The majestic tree of antiquity, shares dreams of what could be
"This is not a place for Fairies or trolls,
This is the missing link in perfecting balance
Please be with us, for green is ageless and begging for a chance,
to enlighten life, for our whole purpose is to please man
