A Greater Peace Poem by Bill Cantrell

A Greater Peace

Rating: 4.6

With wings of gold,
I touch the light,
What a joy to feel so high
Yet, gliding above,
My darkest fears,
I still hear the others cry
It is only when,
I feel their pain,
I shed my wings of gold
Somehow I find a greater peace,
Standing with them in the cold

A powerful and wonderful poem full of kindness. Feeling the pain of others and helping them to ease such pain is the most wonderful feeling and I think it is the greatest peace. A great poem that touches the heart.

I agree with the wonderful comments of Jez Brul and Aqua Flower. Only a good heart can feel the pain of others. And kindness is the core of great character. Wonderfully written.

You have beautifully perceived natural beauty and expressed brilliantly in this excellent poem. Golden wings touch light but snow falls on it and later melts. Others cry for peace and you hear. This really provokes thought. Standing within cold still you find greater peace. An excellent poem is well penned....10
