Guardian Angel Poem by AnnaLynn Veryl

Guardian Angel

Rating: 5.0

You don't understand
You say it's not my fight
You say that I'm not going through this
On this cold and lonely night

But what you do not know
Is that loving you's my cross
When you cry, I feel it too
When you scream that you are lost

It tears my skin and breaks my heart
To see you in distress
And to know that I am helpless
To do all but confess

That loving you's a curse
I would never trade away
When you're wrapped in your despair
I won't let you slip astray

I will fight the monsters off
Until they cower and say
"At her side is a guardian angel,
That will never walk away."

So take a rest, my darling
From the monsters in your head
Your sister is here to keep you safe
And I will hurt in your stead.
