Guinness Book Worthy Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Guinness Book Worthy

How stupid,
Can a stupidity...
Already accomplished.
And undeniably achieved.
Get?
To become...
Notably honored,
As Guinness Book worthy?
Who is it that monitors,
The keeping of these...
Statistics to award them.

It can not be that difficult.
In these 'Believe It Or Not',
Days we live.
Too many have become,
Stunningly complacent.
And overwhelmingly accepting.
Claiming of peace,
Wished to get.
Yet...
Have ears open wide,
For any rumor heard to hear.
Falsely spreading deception.
Sweetened enough,
To have people forget...
A mind to use,
They were blessed to receive.
Free to get unconditionally.
Although immediately useless,
This gift to ignore is.

Arguments begin to start,
Over 'he said, she said'...
Gossipers whisper.
Not to validate at all.
Escalating into conflicts.
Heating up folks,
To climb fences and up walls.
And...
Seen dressed to impress,
In warrior costumes.
Imitating their heroes.
Purchased...
From the latest videos.

How...
Can such stupidity be allowed?
With it to permit,
People to submit as if seduced...
To such depths of stupidity.
What and who,
Do they perceive to represent?
A past that has,
Been historically rewritten.
Re-invented to present,
Those who committed...
Treasonous deeds?
With images constructed,
Out of concrete to deceive.
And this to symbolize,
For centuries...
Has left many mentally crazed.
Assisted by rumors.
And worshipped false beliefs.
Permitted to destroy,
A democracy and its diversity.
Because of lies,
They have been fed upon.
To believe for them is reality!

This complacency,
That has replaced truth.
Done to accomplish,
A ruinous stupidity achieved.
Has to be...
Guinness Book worthy.
Especially when inflicted,
By one who has been known...
To enjoy the game of fraud.
And status to have obtained,
By a gaining of trust.
From the ones so loyal,
That a being thrown...
Under a bus,
Qualifies them...
To destroy themselves.
Without concern for others.
Or a democracy.
That has given them,
Entitlements and freedoms...
To destroy it all.

This...
Has to be,
Guinness Book worthy.
For its...
'Believe It Or Not Stupidity'.
And...
An historic event,
No one can invent to embellish!
