I don't own a gun
For hunting or for protection or for fun
So, I will not shoot or kill
For pleasure, excitement or a thrill.
No matter what the NRA might say
I need not a weapon, but only God when I pray
I will not end a life
With a bullet hoping it will end my strife.
"Do not murder", Jesus said
You will be judged after you are dead
Anger is a path to destruction, damnation, and hell
Anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be in danger of judgment as well.
When they say terrorists are here and there
I grasp my hands together to hold my Bible and say a prayer
Guns are used by the faithless and the bully and the coward
Into hate and lies and rumors they are powered.
If the gun never did exist
We then would use our fist
But, then if we were not the coward but brave and not weak
We would remember what Jesus said, "turn the other cheek"
